1. What motivates you?
Seeing others rise above the A B C of being. Artists like Hanna Sandin, Anna Lundh, Sanya Kantarovsky, Tom Hines and Modern Life of the Soul. Bands like Violens and designers like Alison Kelly and Rebecca Turbow.
2. Who are your greatest inspirations(doesn’t have to be another artist)?
Right now I’m really excited about the dancer Loie Fuller. Her performances were mystifying and her lifestyle was incredibly progressive for her time. I would have loved to have been in Paris around 1900 and seen her dance. I also have a childish couple crush on Charles and Ray Eames. The world they created for themselves
was so full of love and creativity. And Louise Bourgeois really inspires me. So does Mamma Anderson.
3. How do you describe your artistic style?
I’m not sure I can answer that…I’d rather describe someone else’s artistic style. Steeped in metaphor ? Ethereal? Confessional? Secretive?
4. Who is the most important person in your life?
There have been so many amazing amazing people in my life…I could never pick just one. Hopefully, they know who they are, and they know how much I love them.
5. Have you set any artistic goals for yourself, if so, what are they?
I have endless goals for myself…and they’re probably very boring. But the driving force behind all of my goals is to move people. I want to make images that resonate with people on a deep inner level.
