Gimpel Fils will be hosting the launch of artist Jock Mooney’s self-titled book of sculptures and drawings.
Since 2004, Jock has exhibited worldwide in a string of critically acclaimed solo and group shows. The cream of Jock’s work from 2004 – 2008 has been condensed into a very limited edition hardback which also features an essay by artist and lecturer John Beagles (of Beagles & Ramsay).
Jock’s work may also be familiar to music fans, as it has recently graced a number of releases by Dan le Sac VS Scroobius Pip and the “next big thing” Isosceles. A music video collaboration with animator Alasadair Brotherston will soon grace screens for Tom Fun Family Orchestra’s “Throw me to the rats.”
With only 300 copies worldwide, the book is set to become a collector’s item, and a bargain right now, at £10. JOCKMOONEY.COM

I’m not sure how I feel about all of the girls running around New York in frumpy neo-grunge 90s floral dresses and pleated shorts, but I’m not ready to throw in the towel on the decade altogether. After all, the ladies of the 90s David Lynch ouvre were looking pretty slammin’ the whole time. Laura Dern as Lula in Wild at Heart, with her big crimpy hair and tight-ass bandage dresses, is definitely my favorite. If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly recommend it–if only for the fashion (and the hot sex). HALEY
